Summarize

A new form of lie detector that works by voice analysis and which can be used without a subject’s knowledge has been introduce in Britain. The Dektor psychological stress analyzer (PSE) is used by private industry for pre-employment screening, investigating thefts, and even periodic staff checks. It can understood voice generation mechanisms-vibrations of the vocal  chords and resonance of inside the head-there is a third component caused by vibration of the muscle inside the mouth and the throat. Other than that, it Dektor  emphasizes than the device shows only stress, not dishonesty. In the US,  the device is used for pre-employment interview, with question such as ‘Have you used marihuana?’ and for monthly checks with branch managers, asking question like ’Do you suspect any present employees of cheating the company?’-which at least prevent a manager from setting his own pace to investigate possibly suspicious behavior. The objection to its use are than most serious problem is that its primary application will be in situation where people may not object-such as pre-employment interview. The PSE can be used without the subject even knowing; its inventors analyzed the televised Watergate hearing and told the press who they thought was lying.

CAST AWAY MOVIE

The movie was about a man who got stranded because of the plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean. The plane crashed because the weather is not so good in that night. It has storm, thunder, heavy rain, and tempest. All the crew members were died except Tom Hanks. He was saved because of the safety float boat. Finally he was landed at the lonely island that is no inhabited live there. The some of the things that he does when he was laded at the island was picked up all the packages that were floating on the ocean. He looking for people at the island but unfortunately there were nobody there. He also make a big HELP words to notice people who past the island either using a plane or a boat. It was very hard for Tom Hanks to live at the island or the first time. It was hard when he want to split the coconut with a rock, to make a fire and to catch a fish. He also make a fried with a ball ad he called the ball, Wilson. He created Wilson’s face with his bloods that bleed at his hand. His hand was bleed when he wants to create a fire. Lastly, he successfully created a fire. He also trying to escape from the island with a safety float boat but he failed to do it when he was faced with a big wave. Four years later he makes a raft for him to escape from the island. Now he brings Wilson with him also. When he faces with a big wave, he releases aluminum to make them past the big wave. Finally they did it. He was very happy with his successful. But he still stuck at the ocean when he faces with a heavy rain, storm and thunder again. The aluminum dropped off from his raft and lastly his raft also broken and cannot been used again. In the next morning when he was slept, Wilson was slip from the raft. When Tom Hanks awake, he notices that Wilson did not have at the raft anymore. He kept looking for the Wilson and he found Wilson was floating on the ocean. He jumped into the ocean to saved Wilson but unfortunately he failed to save Wilson because Wilson was too far from him. Now he was lonely. He was so sad about losing Wilson. When he was a slept, there was big cargo ship past his raft. His awake and raise his hand to asking for a help. Lastly, he was been save from the member ship. After four weeks later he was been interview because his name already popular with his missing about four years ago. His wife was got shocked when she got a called to informed her about Tom Hanks was still alive. At the FedEx airport, he was met his wife new husband. When his wife new husband leaved him alone, Tom Hanks was looking his wife from the window, he saw his wife was crying and want to meet him but her new husband was stopped her. Tom Hanks goes to his old house and met his wife. He got his car that his wife still kept it. When his half way to go back to his new house, his wife stopped him by run after his car and invited him to go inside and have a drink.  Inside the house, he told a story how he was got lost and until he was landed at the lonely island. The next morning, he goes to gave back a package that he still kept it. The house was at the farm but when he arrived at the house there were nobody at home. So, he just put it in front of the door and leaved a note. The note said,” this box was saved my life”. Then he leaved the house. He got lost at there and lastly he met a girl that stopped his car and she noticed Tom Hanks was lost.

If I was the main character, I would try to find as many alternatives to go back to my hometown as much as I could. I would not want to live alone at the creepy lonely island for too long.  I do not want to have a live at the lonely island without any inhabited. But one thing that I will not follow Tom Hanks; he ate a fish without cook it first by set it on the fire. I will make a fire first then set the fish on the fire. After the fish is cook I will eat it. If my fate live at the island for a long time like Tom Hanks, I will build a tree house for me to sleep. I do not want to sleep in the cave because I will cannot see anything in the cave.

Supporting Details: 

·         > My unforgettable childhood memories, I was in Kindergarten when I was five years old and when I playing with my friend at the playground I fell out of the cradle.

       How happy are the childhood days, no work and all play this is usual routine. Sleep while you sleep and play while you are awake. No home task!  No fear of examinations! When I look back on those happy days of my life, I feel I have forgotten much of it, only a few events of my life stand out prominently. Everyone have a lot of childhood memories and some things we never forget it.

      This is a few of my unforgettable childhood memories, First of all, I was in kindergarten when I was five years. On my first day in kindergarten, my mother accompanied me until the class is completed. I was so scared to see the face one of teachers who taught there, actually she’s a good person and only her face frightened me and made ​​me not want to come class. One week my mother accompanied me because I’m still scared, after I knew she was a good person I'm not afraid anymore. After that I had become familiar without being accompanied mother and I have many friends there, enjoy playing with friends and the most I like when the kindergarten is the coloring and playing on the playground. On a day in kindergarten, when I was playing with my friends at the playground I fell out of the cradle. I cried non-stop because I feel very pain, my elbow was injured hit by large stones.

     Next, when I was in primary school, I like chatting with my friends when teachers teach in front, I do not pay attention. We just play at the back and talking about something. One day in class I heart chat with my friends, suddenly the teacher who teach approached us and she told us to go front of the class, after that we were made to stand with one leg lifted until finished its class. Very embarrassing and it is the first time I have a fine. Besides, I still remember when we get poor marks in the subject English, we will be fine. The fine that us have to do is 'walk like a duck' and we required round the field two times. Very exhausting, after that I study hard and never get a low marks. I do not want have to 'walk like a duck' again. I never forget this moment until now, school days is very exciting for me.

    Last but not least, the sad memories that I have when I was 8 years old. On a day I and my family go to clinic, only grandmother lived own at home. She is very old. When we returned home we found many people were at home. My mother came down from the car and she found grandmother had died. My mother faint after knowing about grandmother had left us. I cried non-stop and can’t accept what has happened. I am very sad to see my mother who was faint and worried because my mother take a long time to lose consciousness. At the same time my uncle had died too. That's a very sad day, we have lost two at all.

In summary, it was one of childhood memories that will never be forgotten. I never delete this memories until died it was the best and sad memories that I had.

Task 6

In writing, the common mistake that I always do is the application of the grammar. I understand the basic of grammar such as Simple Present Tense and Simple Past Tense but when come to Present Perfect Tense and others I get confused. I find that writing in English can be difficult because I need to use a proper grammar so the meaning and the structure of the sentence are delivered well. The first problem that I face when I start writing is wrong spell some word and confuse which a correct spell and grammar that I need to use when I writing. To overcome this problem is more practice and read more English articles, through it I can learn and improved my grammar. 

Task 5

Unfortunately, most of the air we breathe is not pure. It contains harmful substance called pollutants which cause air pollution. Air pollution is one of the major problems of the world. Air pollution can be reduced by planting more trees. Trees also bring rain which helps in cleansing the atmosphere. Factories and power stations are provided with all chimneys which carry smoke and waste gases high up into the air. In some industries, to settle down pollutants, wastes are sprayed with jets of water in scrubbers, before they reach the chimneys. In a few modern industries, electric current used to check smoke and dust particles. Nowadays, cars are fitted with a special device called a catalytic converter.  The catalytic converter converts hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide into harmless water vapors and carbon dioxide. New car engines are designed to use lead-free or unleaded petrol which is less harmful than the leaded one.

Task 4

Writing process can be divided into several stages. As we know, it started with topic sentences, supporting sentences and concluding sentences. For a topic sentence, it must begin by using the main point from the prompt. For instance is “write about your favorite sport”. So, it should be “My favorite sport is badminton”.

Then, continue it by three supporting sentences for the topic. The example of supporting sentences is “It easy to play”. “Playing badminton is lots of fun.” “Through badminton, I become healthier”.

Once it done, write more detail for each of the three reason or supporting sentences. For example is “Badminton is easy to play; it doesn’t need a lot of people to play it such as football or rugby that requires 10 above people to play it. Playing badminton is lots of fun, especially when I smash hard the white shuttle and got high scores. I feel great. Through badminton sport also I become healthier; I lost 3 kilos in 5 weeks just playing badminton”.

When it’s done go on to concluding sentence. Finish with a sentence that restates the topic sentence using different words. For example is “ badminton is the best sport that I ever play”.

Task 3

Writing process can be divided into five stages which are pre – writing, drafting, revising, editing and the last is publishing. At the first stage, which is a pre- writing, it can be said as a main idea that you would like to explore, and then begin to collecting information. At second stage, drafting is necessary. As you write, make sure to referring back the note that been written at the first stage. During this stage, organizing the information logically and ensure to develop the topic with details. The third stage is revising. Revising is important because it can help the writer to check if the purpose is clearly stated or not. During revision, consider the revision from reader’s point of view. The fourth stage is editing. Editing can be said as focuses on making the writing much better in terms of grammar, sentence structure, spelling and more. The last stage is publishing. It can be said as releasing the writing to the public for others to read.
